Xavier Axelson

The very talented and superfriendly Xavier Axelson and I have been chatting lately. He's a fellow mm romance author and I got a chance to sit down with him.

1. How did you get your start writing gay fiction and/or erotica? Please tell us a bit about your background and early beginnings.

I’m just a small town boy trying to make it in the world.  I grew up spending time on my grandparent’s farm and causing commotion wherever I went. 

I’ve been writing since I was in elementary school and never stopped once I started.  I was inspired to write erotica after reading an article in a local paper about the huge demand for the genre and one year later I’ve had 5 pieces published.

2. Tell us a bit about your bestselling novel to date.

I’d have to say The Incident is my bestselling novella so far.  It’s a dark and tense story about two cops trying to overcome a horrific ordeal and move forward with their lives.

3. What do you hope to accomplish with your writing?

With my latest release, The Birches, I wanted to incite a hunger in my readers.  I wanted people to read the story and want to run to the kitchen, grab a bottle of honey and do bad things to their sexual partners with it.  I hope people read my work and are stimulated and excited.

4. If you had a message for your readers and fans, what would it be?

Pressure makes diamonds

5. Alright, time for a naughty question. Who's your fav male celebrity and why?

My favorite male celebrity would have to be Cary Grant.  I aspire to his cool, effortless style and easy masculinity.  I also have a fondness for Michael Douglas for the same reasons.
